NMBI Exam application

What do you need to know about the NMBI registration?

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is an independent statutory body in Ireland that supervises the nursing and midwifery professions. The NMBI requires all nurses and midwives practicing in Ireland to be registered on the Register of Nurses and Midwives.

How to apply for the NMBI registration?

The following are the steps of the NMBI registration process:

STEP 1: NMBI Qualification Recognition Phase

  • This phase involves the comparison of the candidates’ qualifications with the Irish education standards and requirements. To apply for qualifications recognition in one of the Register's divisions, the candidate must have completed a qualification that meets the division's standards and requirements. For G2 & G3 foreign healthcare candidates, applications will undergo both an administrative and qualification assessment and the board will require the candidates to complete a compensation measure.
