NMI NCLEX Application: All you need to know about NCLEX NMI

If you are educated outside of the US and want to apply for your NCLEX in the Northern Mariana Islands (NMI), the first thing you should probably look up is how to apply for the NCLEX NMI exam. Then, after a few online searches, you would look for the requirements that will allow you to comply while you're outside the US.

Choosing which source to reference when preparing for NMI NCLEX can be overwhelming. Here we will go over the top tips for understanding the NMI NCLEX before you take the test and how to prepare for it.

What do you need to know about the NMI Board of Registered Nursing and the NCLEX exam it offers?

The Board of Nursing of the Northern Mariana Islands is a working body that oversees and controls the state's different nursing laws and regulations. It's also in charge of evaluating and standardizing the performance of the state's nursing schools and medical facilities. The Northern Mariana Islands State Board of Nursing also handles other candidates' licensure and certification. The Board also monitors any modifications to the state's nurse practice statute and other nursing statutes.

Local and foreign-educated nurses are licensed by the NMI BON after completing the NCLEX exam or receiving an endorsement from other states.

What are the various NCLEX examinations available in the Northern Mariana Islands?

  1. NCLEX RN - for nursing candidates with a bachelor's or associate's degree in nursing (BSN)
  2. NCLEX PN - for practical and vocational nurses who have completed a Licensed Vocational Nursing diploma or hold a Practical Nursing License.

How long does it take for foreign-educated nurses to complete the NCLEX NMI application, and how much does it cost?

The NCLEX exam application process in the Northern Mariana Islands will take 4 to 6 months to complete, with NCLEX fees ranging from $900.00 to $950.00 until the quick result phase.

When applying for the NCLEX, does the NMI BON require a Social Security Number (SSN)?

SSN is not required for the NMI BON at this moment. If this requirement changes in the future, it will be publicized on the NMI Board of Nursing website, and the checklist requirement form will be updated.

How long will it take for the Board to approve a foreign-educated nurse's documents for the NCLEX exam?

It will take roughly 4-8 weeks if all required supporting documents and the exam application fees are received by the Board. On the other hand, other delays may arise owing to variables outside BON's control, such as the time it takes for mail to arrive in other countries, the fact that school credentials and payment are sent separately, and so on.

How long does it take for a foreign-educated nurse to get an Authorization To Test or ATT notification?

Once a candidate registers with PearsonVue and enters their name into the board system, they will be notified by email of their new status and given 90 days to schedule their NCLEX exam.

How long does it take for a foreign-educated nurse to obtain their NCLEX exam results after taking it?

Official test results are sent out by first-class mail by the NMI BON; as a result, depending on the outcome of the test findings, this could take 3-4 weeks. The results of the tests are not sent via email or telephone.

Further delays may occur due to factors beyond the BON's control, such as mail delivery to overseas nations taking longer.

In NMI, how do candidates register for the NCLEX?

The typical NMI NCLEX application procedure for foreign-educated nurses consists of various procedures or phases. Candidates must remember that each state has its own set of rules and regulations that they must follow, and it may be difficult to choose the best state suitable for each candidate. That is why, before beginning the application process, a foreign-educated nurse who desires to take the NCLEX must go through a pre-qualification process to determine which states they qualify for based on their educational background, job experience, and professional goals.

  • I am Marcia Dimatulac Gutierrez, with a license number of R08227. Presently residing in Canada and currently processing my application here to be registered nurse. I just would like to ask something. Just to give you a background of my situation at the moment, the NNAS endorsed my application to the College of Nurses Ontario and my exam registration (NCLEX 2008) has met the requirements. However, their assessment of my Nursing education revealed that I still have to pursue Continuing education which will take a longer time for me to practice my profession if ever I decide to go through with it. In addition, the Council (CNO) has approved that anyone could meet the Educational Requirements as well, if they would pass the NCLEX starting April 2013.

My question is, is it possible to take the NCLEX again because this is the simplest way that I could meet the Nursing Education they are requiring in Canada? Hoping to hear back from you. Thank you.

  • Hi.

I just want to ask, if I opt to take the exam in Northern Mariana Islands as a foreign educated nurse via overseas online and passed it, can I look for an employer outside NMI directly without having to arrive at NMI?

I’d appreciate any help or clarifications on this matter. Thank you!
